Dance courses

Norma teaches the traditional style of dance in Guinea, as well as the modern forms from the ballets. She has devoted herself to these styles and is therefore specialised in these dance forms. Her goal is to convey the diversity of these styles to her students by making the differences and subtleties clear.

Norma attempts to challenge every single participant according to their level, and she tries to ensure that in all situations one thing is not forgotten: the enjoyment of dancing.

The workshops and courses are accompanied by Sean on the djembe. The communication between the dancers and the musicians lies at the heart of West African dance, and comprises therefore a fundamental part of the workshops. Hence, it is important to Norma that the dance is supported by live music, because only then can the participants develop a feeling for the interplay between the rhythm and the dance figures.
